Stakeholder research for the 2025 Indiana Disparity Study that aims to improve inclusivity and opportunities for small business owners holding race and gender certifications. This study is performed every 5 years.
The client wanted feedback from business owners regarding current offerings for diverse small business owners holding race and gender certifications. This insight would capture qualitative insights to inform government policy. I was challenged to schedule interviews, within a 6-week period, with thriving business owners whose availability was in-demand, as well as document and transcribe my findings.
I conducted comprehensive stakeholder interviews surveying the city’s small business development efforts in four main categories: human capital, business ownership, financial capital, and business success. I helped manage client relationships for the state and translated complex business needs into natural, productive conversations with diverse industry leaders.
I conducted 10 stakeholder interviews, delivered 8 interview recordings and transcripts, synthesized findings, and prioritized recommendations to senior management.
The client received feedback and actionable recommendations to inform policy and outreach strategies for equitable support of MBE/WBE/DBE business owners. Additionally, business owners were engaged and afforded input into local government decisions that would aid the state economy.
